Post subject: Help files
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>basics (more info?)
Since downloading and istalling XP SP2 I am unable to
access help and support files. I unblocked Help ctr in
the fire wall, but help still will not open. In Windows
explorer the help files are empty.
Anu one else this prob?

Run the System File Checker with
SFC /scannow
and see if this solves the problem.

Lost files - I had to reinstall Windows XP after my system crashed during an attempt to install XP2. Fortunately my data was backed up, but it also remained available on the hard drive. I have not, however, been able to find my address book or favorites list. ....
